Fused Cast α-Alumina Block (RTK-A) - High-Performance Material from China Suppliers and Factory for Metallurgy Applications

RTK-A is a premium product consisting of nearly 100% alpha-alumina, which offers exceptional properties such as high temperature resistance, strong alkali resistance, and a compact structure. This innovative material showcases excellent chemical stability and superior wear resistance, making it a leading choice among China suppliers and factories for various industrial applications. Its corrosion resistance to diverse slags surpasses that of other aluminum silicate products, positioning RTK-A as the ideal option for skid roll bricks used in metallurgy electrolyzers and heating furnaces. Furthermore, the use of high-purity raw materials ensures minimal impurities and virtually no glass matrix phase, resulting in outstanding low contamination performance for molten glass applications. Choose RTK-A for reliable and high-quality performance in your industrial processes

    Brief Introduction

Fused and cast alumina products are alumina series fused and cast blocks made of high-purity alumina raw materials, which are melted in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature above 2000℃. Due to the use of high-purity raw materials, less impurities and almost no matrix glass phase, it has excellent low contamination performance to the molten glass.
The crystal phase structure of the fused alumina series is composed of α-alumina and β-alumina, which has different composition ratios. The products of different varieties have different properties and can meet different operating conditions. According to its crystal phase structure, it is divided into α-β corundum brick (RTK-M), β-corundum brick (RTK-H) and α-corundum brick (RTK-A). Further classification shall be made according to the appearance quality specification level and casting method. These classifications can meet the different application requirements of fused cast corundum series in glass furnaces and metallurgical electrolyzers.
RTK-A is composed of nearly 100% α-alumina, which has high temperature resistance, strong alkali resistance, compact structure, excellent chemical stability and strong wear resistance. Its corrosion resistance to various slags is far stronger than other aluminum silicate products, and it is an ideal material for the skid roll bricks of the metallurgy electrolyzer and heating furnace.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are fused and cast alumina products made of?
They are made of high-purity alumina raw materials melted in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature above 2000℃. Thanks to the high-purity raw materials, they contain fewer impurities and almost no matrix glass phase.
How are fused alumina products classified based on crystal phase structure?
They are divided into α-β corundum brick (RTK-M), β-corundum brick (RTK-H), and α-corundum brick (RTK-A), depending on the composition ratio of α-alumina and β-alumina.
What are the key performance benefits of RTK-A?
RTK-A consists of nearly 100% α-alumina. It offers high temperature resistance, strong alkali resistance, a compact structure, excellent chemical stability, and strong wear resistance.
What are the typical applications of RTK-A corundum bricks?
Due to its superior corrosion resistance to various slags compared to other aluminum silicate products, RTK-A is an ideal material for skid roll bricks in metallurgy electrolyzers and heating furnaces.
What is the typical chemical composition of RTK-A?
RTK-A typically contains 98.0% Al₂O₃, 1.0% Na₂O, and 1.0% or less of impurities (SiO₂ + CaO + Fe₂O₃ + TiO₂).
What is the load softening start temperature of these bricks?
The load softening start temperature (under 0.2 MPa load) is typically 1700℃.
