China Fused Cast α-β-Alumina Block (RTK-M) - High-Quality Suppliers and Factory for Glass Furnaces

RTK-M is an advanced material comprised of approximately 50% α-alumina and 50% β-alumina, forming a highly dense structure that exhibits exceptional resistance to strong alkalis. This innovative product boasts erosion resistance to molten glass that rivals that of AZS below temperatures of 1350℃. With minimal impurities such as Fe₂O₃ and TiO₂, RTK-M has a significantly reduced glass matrix phase, ensuring it does not contaminate molten glass and minimizes the formation of foreign matter like bubbles during contact. As a leading choice for working pool walls, pavement, material channels, and channels in high-grade glass furnaces, RTK-M is an ideal selection from trusted suppliers and a reputable factory in China, meeting the highest industry standards

    Brief Introduction

Fused and cast alumina products are alumina series fused and cast blocks made of high-purity alumina raw materials, which are melted in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature above 2000℃. Due to the use of high-purity raw materials, less impurities and almost no matrix glass phase, it has excellent low contamination performance to the molten glass.

The crystal phase structure of the fused alumina series is composed of α-alumina and β-alumina, which has different composition ratios. The products of different varieties have different properties and can meet different operating conditions. According to its crystal phase structure, it is divided into α-β corundum brick (RTK-M), β-corundum brick (RTK-H) and α-corundum brick (RTK-A). Further classification shall be made according to the appearance quality specification level and casting method. These classifications can meet the different application requirements of fused cast corundum series in glass furnaces and metallurgical electrolyzers.

RTK-M Structure: RTK-M is composed of about 50% each of α-alumina and β-alumina, and the interlocking of the two crystals forms a very dense structure with excellent resistance to strong alkalis.

Its resistance to erosion of molten glass is comparable to that of AZS in the temperature range below 1350℃. Since it contains almost no impurities such as Fe₂O₃ and TiO₂, the matrix glass phase is very small, and it has the excellent property of not contaminating the molten glass by minimizing the occurrence of foreign matter such as bubbles when in contact with the molten glass.

Therefore, it is the most suitable for working pool wall, pavement, material channel and channel of high-grade glass furnace.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What raw materials are used to make fused and cast alumina products?
They are made of high-purity alumina raw materials, which are melted in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature above 2000℃.
What is the crystal phase structure of RTK-M?
RTK-M is composed of approximately 50% α-alumina and 50% β-alumina. The interlocking of these two crystal phases forms a highly dense structure that provides excellent resistance to strong alkalis.
Why does RTK-M have low contamination properties for molten glass?
Because it contains almost no impurities such as Fe₂O₃ and TiO₃, resulting in a very small matrix glass phase. This minimizes the occurrence of foreign matter, such as bubbles, when in contact with the molten glass.
Where is RTK-M most commonly applied in glass furnaces?
It is highly suitable for the working pool wall, pavement, material channel, and channel of high-grade glass furnaces.
What is the bulk density and normal compression resistance of RTK-M?
RTK-M has a typical bulk density (dense part) of 3.4 g/cm³ and a normal temperature compression resistance of 240 MPa.
What is the typical chemical composition of RTK-M?
The typical chemical composition consists of 94.0% Al₂O₃, 4.0% Na₂O, and ≤2.0% of combined SiO₂ + CaO + Fe₂O₂ + TiO₂.
